Tasting Notes
Pale straw in appearance with a pale green hue. Aromas of white fleshed stone fruit, melon skin, grilled citrus with flickers of gun flint and spice add complexity. On the palate flavours of grapefruit citrus are met in equal parts by white stone fruit, both are driven along a vibrant acid line giving length to the wine. Textural notes from the barrel fermentation and time on lees give the wine depth and an added dimension of flavour.
Vineyard Notes
This wine was sourced from the north facing Hazeldene Vineyard, sited in the red volcanic soils of Gladysdale.
Winemaker's Notes
A traditional winemaking approach was used to produce this wine – handpicking and whole bunch pressing directly to 500 litre French oak puncheons for a natural fermentation followed by 10 months maturation on lees.
Vintage Notes
A long, cool growing season with average cropping levels and ample rainfall has resulted in wines with outstanding varietal definition and purity.

Halliday Wine Companion - 96pts
“A superb Hazeldene with white peach, wet stone, fresh mint, white flowers and a hint of macadamia nut. Pure fruited, concentrated and beautifully balanced, this will provide a lot of pleasure now and for years to come.” – Philip Rich
The Wine Front - 95+pts
“Despite its complexity, and it’s intensity, this is an easy chardonnay to love. The fruit floods, the oak seduces, the linger of the finish makes it memorable. Grilled peach, toast, hazelnuts, apple and a custard cream aspect have this wine singing across various octaves. It rolls with its own punches. It’s a beauty.” – Campbell Mattinson
