Tasting Notes
A mix of 30/70% whole bunches/whole berries and matured for 14 months in French puncheons (10% new). A very bright purple. Leaps out of the glass with red and black fruits, freshly cracked black pepper and violets. It's ripe, plush, even and flavoursome but, equally, it's also light on its feet. Drink this beaut now and over the next six to eight years plus. - 96 points - Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion
Vineyard Notes
This wine was sourced from the north-facing Hyde Park vineyard sited in the grey alluvial loams of Coldstream.
Winemaker's Notes
A traditional winemaking approach was used to produce this wine - 70% whole berry fermentation with 30% whole bunch inclusion in open vessels for two weeks followed by a 14 month maturation in French oak puncheons (10% new).
Vintage Notes
A vintage defined by cool, wet conditions, low crops and harvesting late into autumn. The resulting wines have great depth of flavour and vibrant, balanced acidities.
