Tasting Notes

Ruby red with a light purple hue. Lashings of red fruits leap from the glass with raspberry and crushed strawberry dominating, notes of red cherry, pomegranate and a slight hint of spice add complexity. The palate is vibrant with an abundance of red fruits, red currants and cherries, notes of spice, rhubarb, and rosemary. All cascading down the palate, vibrancy from the acid provides drive and length.

Vineyard Notes

This wine was sourced from the upper Yarra north-facing Willowlake Vineyard, sited in the red volcanic soils of Gladysdale.

Winemaker's Notes

Handpicked and de-stemmed for 100% whole berry fermentation on skins for 2 weeks prior to pressing to old French oak puncheons for maturation.

Vintage Notes

A cool, long vintage with abundant rainfall and very low cropping levels has resulted in wines of great varietal purity and vibrant natural acidity.
