Tasting Notes
Bright red with a trace of purple to the hue. Vivid red cherry and bramble aromas are on an exuberant show from the outset. Memories of cherry cola lollies together with five spice and a positive dried herbal lift contribute to an immediately appealing array of aromas. On the palate, a soft and slurpy entry leads into a range of red and blue forest fruits. A coating and glossy texture highlights these grapey flavours, carried along by a fresh line of acidity. Indeed, this wine is all about fruit and instant attraction, as any grape product should be.
Vineyard Notes
This wine was sourced from the upper Yarra north-facing Willowlake Vineyard, sited in the red volcanic soils of Gladysdale.
Winemaker's Notes
Handpicked and de-stemmed for 100% whole berry fermentation on skins for 2 weeks prior to pressing to old French oak puncheons for maturation.
