Background

Tasting Notes

Fragrant white flowers, nectarine, peach skin and grapefruit complexed with light touches of white oak and flecks of burnt match. Air and decanting help to open the wine adding green mango and papaya notes to the just ripe stone fruit flavours. It’s light on its feet, lithe even, with a piercing lemon-citrus line of acidity that drives across the glassy textured palate. Length to burn, precise, pure and with many years ahead with careful cellaring.

Vineyard Notes

This wine was sourced from the north facing Henk Vineyard, sited in the red volcanic soils of Woori Yallock.

Winemaker's Notes

A traditional winemaking approach was used to produce this wine – handpicking and whole bunch pressing directly to 500 litre French oak puncheons for a natural fermentation followed by 10 month maturation on lees.

Vintage Notes

A cool spring wet spring, mild summer and a long, dry autumn with low crops has resulted in strong varietal characters and fine persistent acidities.
