The Wine Front - 95pts
“Blackberry, blackcurrant, very graphite sort of thing here, with some tobacco, and violet, mint and maybe nudging toward liquorice as it takes air. Medium-bodied, dark fruit and pencilly tannin, distinct mineral feel and a long firm finish, moving towards red fruits. Classic Yarra Cab. A wonderful wine.” – Gary Walsh
Wine Reviewer - 95pts
“A wine of elegance and texture with layered dark berry fruits enjoying the nuanced and subtle generosity of oak that lifts it to another plane. The aromatics give mulberry and ripe blackberry alongside a dusting of spice. There is a sweet earthen backdrop of tannin that melds with cassis, bitter dark chocolate and oak induced spice. The finish is long and fruit driven with winemaker influence providing the embellishments.” – Patrick Eckel
Halliday Wine Companion - 94pts
“A very classy cabernet with a riff of cassis, currants and almost-ripe blackberries spiced to the max, with touches of wintergreen. It is balanced and cooling across its medium-bodied palate, with crunchy acidity to snap it closed. A modern-day claret, perhaps.” – Jane Faulkner
