Tasting Notes
Pale, quartz green. Tight, fine, lifted lemongrass, roquette leaves and lettuce cup. Then there’s underlying aromas of yeast and toast from barrel fermentation. The palate is tensile, pure with a fine glassy texture that’s loaded with citrus fruit and more lemongrass but finishes with a moreish, savoury-yeasty inflection. This is long and fine and destined to last for many years.
Vineyard Notes
Sémillon, from old French séme, meaning seed. The Oakridge vineyard was once a seed farm, growing Brussels sprouts. A local rarity, of which we have five short rows, only 150 dozen bottles have been produced.
Vintage Notes
A very long, cool growing season with low crops and abundant rainfall has resulted in wines with outstanding aromatic qualities and strong varietal definition.
